Yeah, the Brits, Aussies, and Krauts have us outnumbered and are eating out better than we can.

Is there any nutritional value in American food, not including the McSalad ?

TJ's still do the best burgers in town. I always have mine cooked rare.

Their chilli is also still the best in town, even though poor old Dieter could muster up a great bowl himself.

And their grits are great, too. Just as long as their butter is fresh.

Why they stopped doing their excellent beef soup with bread remains a mystery to me.

Wow! All this from a Limey!

Hold them beans and the sausages look like they were cremated, O-T, but, yep, no contest. A proper English brekkie will keep you going the whole day. Never been a big grits fan myself.

I'd love to see a classic American Diner in Udon, with lots of chrome fittings, and neon signs.
The Skyliners "Since I don't have you" coming from the 1950's jukebox.
Hickory smoked bacon, and a choice of how you want your eggs cooked.
All we need is an eccentric millionaire with vision, to come along and build it.
The nearest equivalent I have seen in Thailand, is the one in Foodland on Bangkok's Soi 5 Sukhumvit.

I thought Sal's 'California Cafe' was great and I really wish that someone else would take the initiative and offer up some Mexican and corned beef fayre!

You can get tacos at Station Cafe (or something like that) next door to D-corner by rail road station. Tacos aren't authentic, but tasty and at a good value, 49bt.

Reminds me of a favorite diner in Pompano Beach FL called Ronnie B's with the chrome fittings, black and white tiles, juke box, burgers and milk shakes. http://local.yahoo.com/info-14212355-ro ... pano-beach Sadly, the place was a victim of the times and now closed. Can still hear that tune from the '50s though:

I think the eccentric rich guys here have spent all their money on houses, cars and tilac's family misfortunes/water buffalo but will check out that Foodland lunch counter. :-D

I had a decent steak at TJ's a few months ago.

And I've seen them throw out old stock before, which is why I always order my burgers rare there.

I just wish they'd bring their beef stew and hot buttered roll back!
