The lowest I have ever seen the Mae Kong

They changed Photo bucket this a link to the photos I took today barges on the sand bar at Chaing Kkan and the 20 klms south of there.

I'll try to get the photos uploaded to the site, to make it easier I have never seen it this low in the past eight years.

Those are the barges in the center of the river. people weer just walking around the sand bar I guess waiting for the water level to raise

Afraid it's a sign of things to come,,,,,,,, the Chinese dams upriver have started the ball rolling on the future S.E.A. conflicts over water rights. The once mighty Mae Nam Khong is a thing of the past. Oh well,,,, the downstream countries will find out just how good a neighbor the Chinese dragon intends to be. Hope they understand the meaning of BOHICA.......

When it floods, they blame it on the Chinese, when it runs dry, they blame it on the Chinese.

Perhaps its global drying. (I thought of it first) New taxes on water starting today.

yes global warming..the Himalayas will have no snow on them within 20yrs, and all the major rivers that feed off them will be as dry as a dead dingo's donger..
