The DNA "study" was a few years back - I'm searching for the reference, also vaguely remember a BBC(? or UK channel) program which was a bit wider than the Orkneys

I think the 'vikings' one I mentioned was wider than just the Orkneys. At the time I seem to remember some chat about the North East of England playing an important part in the actual study/program...The Orkney site was the only one I could actually find (in a pretty quick search) that referenced the data it contained. I am sure one of the 'peer to peer' sites would probably still have a copy of the program. If I get some time I will have a search, but that will probably be next week now...

Some interesting links Ronan, some with good information. The Neanderbasque one did not seem quite right to me, and certainly the references they provide for their 'evidence' seemed to be pseudo-science and i think, a site about reptile origins? It was the suggestion we got the rhesus factor fron rhesus monkeys, which waved a flag! but never the less, the other links were good reading.

In theory (out of africa) - we are all descended from an african "eve" - i think that means all "homo sapiens"share her RNA?
