I was interested in your original post until I got to the part where yopu stated, Those of us who are stuck here for reasons....That did in fact left me wondering, why stuck, what with Tilo's ofnd memories or not of the province you mentioned and the fact it is in fact the other side of Bejing, does make one wonder oif that trip could be worth it.

Keep us informed facts one would want to know, would be mean temperature, accomodation and costs , ease of finding good food, One knows chinese food is ok but it is also full of MSG. Estimated payment and for what ages would be very helpful, different ages require different standards and expectations.

I am not trying to be awkward just pragmatic if one is goin g to consider this seriously one should find out all the facts before even saying yes. It is not like going down to Phuket or up to Chiang mai to teach it is also another country and abscence may possibly put your Thai Visa at risk, which would bring further problems upon ones return.

I must apologise for my typing and spelling, I did write this yesterday rather late and was tired.
It would be advantageous to us all if the original postee could at least up the ante by answering some of the questions posed, then those of us who may be interested, could formulate an honest reponse.
however if as one person suggsted they are just looking for native speakers with little or no teaching quals, you can count me out.

what do you mean by "working on the numbers $"...in other words you will work out how much the application fee will be, then how much the processing fee will be, then how much the visa fee will be, then how much the transport & introduction & etc etc etc fees will be.........

if youre going to offer work in a foreign country, the first thing you need to validate, is which sponsor in china will sponsor the work permit.

tell us about that........then tell us the fees

I will work on the details and perhaps throw together a quick website to show you around what I know as SHANDONG area. and start working on the numbers $... I had a good time in the area, the air was good and the people will treat you like a celebrity because you are rare in numbers...

What do you mean by a ''short trip to''?Are you talking about distance or time?Is this like a ''Travel to teach'' program,a holiday job etc.?What are the qualifications needed by those interested? Are the students adults or children? :?

While the details of this are abit vague. I will be in Thailand in a month or so and after my stay there would be quite willing to take a job as a teacher. I have no Tefl qualification but have taken classrooms of adults for training in a workplace environment.
