You're right on the assignment.. I ended up doing 21 1/2 years in the Army and Swing shift in the box for 26 months was by far the best (and easiest) job I ever had in my career.. Add to that the exotic life of living in Thailand and t'was heaven for a young man..
Interesting to me that I did almost exactly that length of time in the Army. Retired as an E8 74Z. See where there was a 74F at the box. Didn't know any of those guys were there. Course I wasn't really paying attention either. I heard at one time that the total number of guys who married Thais was far more than the Army ever wanted to admit. Uh, BTW, 'twas heaven indeed.
