Fake police inspector caught in Udon Thani

Postby Ing_udon » November 12, 2009, 12:14 pm

10th November 2009, Udon Thani

Udon Thani police caught a guy claiming to be a police inspector.

An anonymous person informed the police to check on a guy driving a Chevrolet Optra, black color, car registration **** Udon thani. The guy always parked his car in the police station car park. Not long after this information, the police saw the guy driving in.The police approached him and asked him to show his police card. He showed the card (a fake one) and comfirmed he was the real police. The police did not believe him and then took him to the station for questioning. He finally confessed. He said he was not a police but would like to be one. He said it was his dream since he was young. The police checked his room (Mayaraa place, Posri road) and found a police inspector uniform.

The guys name is Mr. *****, 28 years old and comes from Prajeanburi province. Now he is studying law at Raamkumkaeng University BKk.

The idea of this happened when he reached Udon Thani at the beginning of the year visiting some friends. When he went out to the bars, nightclubs or restaurants, he showed the fake police card, then he could get a big discount or even food and drink for free. If the owners did not belive him he would go back to the place with his uniform on. Then it worked well. He was also reported to sell fitness equipment, he used his uniform to intimidate people into making purchases.

He made people believe him by parking his car at the police station. Some girs fell for this and slept with him, some gave him money too. The cas war not his but one of the girls he had become friends with.

Every time I see somebody on a motorbike with a shirt or jacket that has "POLICE" on it I am wondering why the real police do not worry about that. Then this article. Seems they worry only after the perpetrator has probably ripped off dozens of people and he is stupid enough to park in the police parking lot. I think probably right now, somewhere in Udon, there is at least one more person running this scam... so easy. Mai pen rai

Seems these Thai ladies fall for a man in uniform! If I bought a security guard uniform, maybe couple of medals ,flash pair dark glasses, might score a bird easier! Image

Criminals will find creative ways of doing whatever it is they want to do, whether it be posing as a police officer, soldier or even a doctor. So beware of those guys, although they have the uniform, but still they are fake.

On a slightly humorous note fake police....we could think of many here who fit that description just by the way they act, and guess what they are REAL police officers, so it is no wonder that many people Thais especially fall for a con when perpretrated .
