Even if you don't need their services this time, sign in and thank them.

Our US Passport is still 4 years valid
There are only 3 empty pages left so we need Extra passport pages.

1) How many pages do they add to the passport?
2) What is the cost prize???

Is it better to simply apply for a new passport?

Cookie...why don't you go today and find out for yourself...You should know by now that the people on this forum like to make a big debate of things like this with their own opinions, which are usually BS.

11 pages were added the last time I had it done (22 front and back). I paid nothing for the service and waited for only an hour.

I had this done at the embassy in Bangkok in April. They give you 24 new pages and the cost is free. I think you can apply at the outreach service but they will probably have to keep your passport, add the pages in Bangkok, and mail it back to you. Definitely better to add pages. IMHO.

thanks for the info tutone.
we will add the pages in our passport.
but I will try to go to Khon Kaen,
This will be much easier than Bangkok.
Does the the outreach service come to Khon Kaen once a month?
or one every 3 months?

Received a bit of new information this morning from the American Consular Outreach Service. They no longer certify passports for any countries other than US passports.

At one time, they would provide this service for the purpose of verifying ID for ITI Number applications with the IRS. No longer. It must all be done through the Thai Ministry in Bangkok now -- or through the country where the passport originates.

However, all is not lost. I have located a translator in Udon Thani who can get the process done through air services with the Thai Ministry in Bangkok. She was able to do this before for us with our marriage paperwork, and it all went off without a hitch. It saves a ton of money (travel, taxi, etc.) and time.

An earlier post on this topic says that if you apply for extra pages at the outreach service, you still have to pick up your passport at the Bangkok embassy.

Like NOLA says

the people on this forum like to make a big debate of things like this with their own opinions, which are usually BS.

Of course, now you have to figure out if NOLA's own opinion is usually BS or if the info you found is BS. And don't forget, NOLA posts here, so I guess he has to include himself in the BS. 8)

These outreaches are so nice.

One deals with humans face to face across a table, no barriers, guards, glass windows, tiny little trays to slide documents & money through, etc.

Well done, very nice, excellent service from the folks at the US Embassy!

Good post, dude.
My sentiments exactly.
Not to mention monetary savings of dozens of individual Amcits traveling to Bangkok.
