In need of a good Computer repair shop

Postby bumper » August 3, 2010, 9:19 am

I normally use the shop locate across from Panaraya hospital, usually very good, However I have had the computer into them three times and they have missed on whatever the problem is.

So if someone has had good experience somewhere else I would really appreciate knowing about it.

I have replaced the computer. However there are maps programs that took me years to get and I can't replace them. So either fix it as a back up, or get the programs into the new computer.

Thanks

I always use 108 Easy a shop located on both sides of the road where the old Molly Malones used to be . Their repair dept gets very busy though so don't expect a while you wait service . The boss lady speaks reasonably good English as well .

There used to be shop on the corner of Nong Bua market, now that has actually relocated down towards the entrance of the Chinese thingy on the same side near to the steps for the over-bridge.
before I found then helpful and very professional, may I suggest there, you can park in a little suide road just after the overbridge if unable to stop on the main road.

I think it would be wise to treat this as a 2 stage project bumper.
First stage get them to copy your programs onto Cds - in order to make sure that the hard disk is not wiped in their repair process. I have seen too many PCs in Thailand (not mine :D ) sent to be 'repaired' & the first thing they do is re-format the hard drive with zero thought given to making a copy first!!
If the PC isn't working at all then it is easy enough (& safe enough) to take out your hard drive & put it into a working PC & then safely copy your programs.
If the problem is with the hard disk itself then it is more technical to fix. However Norton make a suite of programs that make it possible to recover stuff from even a quite damaged disk - although there are limits!! :D
Second stage is then to fix whatever problem there is with the PC - with you knowing that your programs are safe!!

I have found that Tohnan upstairs in the right hand corner of the complex have been pretty good at sorting any of the problems I have presented them with...inexpensive also!

Got referral from WBU

The guy's name is Narad. His phone number is 085-6088770. Posted with his permission.

He did a great job, in the time he said he would and saved all my information.

Tomorrow he will sit up both computer's on the internet.

Did it very well for me.

In the past for small upgrades etc I have used 108 in the ex Molly Malones, but the last time a bit of a problem, after waiting 10 days and many phone calls to them with no result so I took it out from the shop.
Tried a small shop near the the police station, same side but 2oo Mtres away from the round about, bloody brilliant ! they did it while I waited, as the mother board had a dud HD output, decided to up grade it with a new CPU as well, new RAM as well.
Great guys, and excellent amateur comedians, comp all fixed with new devices installed for 5200 of yer Thai Baht.
Ph 042329146.
Most of their customers seemed to be teachers and military guys, known for their frugality and an eye for a deal. :D
No one speaks English so if you are linguistically challenged, take yr 'ol lady (or boy friend)
Noticed They has some good deals on 2nd hand laptops as well.
