Was it any good then Wiking?
Maybe some of us are old fashioned but roasts are traditionally done on a Sunday, healthy competition is good for Udon :D

Pop in and give them a try. They are really a couple of nice guys trying to make a go of it

Disclaimer: I have no monetary or other interest in the City Lodge. Just trying to help a couple of good guys.

Saw their flyer about this, price 170 baht and one free drink with every meal with the flyer.Time quoted was midday until 4pm or until all food has gone!

Mentions Roast Beef,yorkshire pud,roast potatoes,stuffing,vegetables and onion gravy. =P~

Just tried the Sunday roast here, nice full plate of food, chose water as driving but the drink can be beer or maybe a short if you so wish as the owners are very amicable.
Finished off with a coffee at 15 baht so the forumite Wiking should be pleased, total 185 baht.It is not a buffet as such just seconds are available if you can manage it,for me,full up.No chance of me playing pool after that though 8)
Enjoyed background music of Gerry Rafferty 'Baker street' and the music from the film 'Shaft'.

Still have to try the Bookhouse for their Sunday roasts but this was a good start for me. 8)

Sorry did not ask Zidane about Andy but the Yorshire puds,2 small ones were very good as he seems to have a nack of making them around town.Veg was carrots and broccoli,2 small stuffing balls.Roast spuds tasty.Well presented plate.Hopefully someone who knows how to post a picture can venture in there next time and put on the thread.
Drink could have been Leos or Singha on the beer side.

I do not venture out much at weekends so have not tried the Bookhouse or Mojos roasts to compare yet. 8)

City Lodge.

Postby Wee Jimmy » September 10, 2010, 9:49 am

Was at City Lodge yesterday with the wife for breakfast and I will say its best we’ve had in Udon yet. The girl who does the cooking is the same girl who was there 18 months ago. After breakfast I tried their Cider which is on promotion at 70 Baht a big glass. Stayed a little too long on the Cider, left at 6pm and suffering this morning. It’s a lovely clean place. It’s worth a try.
Before anyone jumps in I’m not promoting the place, only passing on information.

That has got to be the best report of a place =D> , breakfast then cider. Right up OT's street. Except (listen wait for this name) Wee Jimmy.. (my eyes are watering with laughter) you should have carried on till 6 in the morning and sorted out a WFB somewhere along the way. But don't puke up over one, they get annoyed.

OT.......... \:D/

I am looking forward too, to come back to City Lodge one day.
The large roomes are beautiful.
Remember I made pics last April an posted them here: N-Dee

Are the two bars in front of it (Nikita and Country Bar) still OK?
So it never will be boring in City Lodge. :D

It may not be the same when you come back, but if you really like it that much you can buy it :D
