"A welcome update "
Unfortunately, the seed has been planted. A lot of people don't have the brain capacity to absorb the absolution.

Moral of the Wikileaks and rape allegations - Careful if you want to F**K the government, because as they feel violated, they may cry RAPE - only needs one minion to do that.

The moral here is that a government can literally rape the entire country but watch what you get up to . :-"

no, because there's still a molestation charge out on him that doesn't mandate an arrest warrant.. If he violated Swedish law when visiting then I imagine he'll be either arrested or served with a subpoena when (if) he returns to the country.. If the U.S. wants him, then a U.S. Attorney's office should file charges of esponage against Assange.. Then U.S. authorities could either file for extradition or snatch him any time he's either in U.S. terrritory or in international waters..

I presume you mean if he is swimming. The maritime regulations apply if on a boat or in an aeroplane. That means whilst on the vessel he is technically in the country in which it is registered .But of course he will at some time have to get off . Then he is in the country of disembarkment .

Sweden Reopens Wikileaks Founder Rape Investigation

A senior Swedish prosecutor has ordered the reopening of a rape investigation into Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

Public Prosecutions Director Marianne Ny said there was "reason to believe a crime has been committed" and the crime was classified as rape.

Last week prosecutors cancelled an arrest warrant for Mr Assange on accusations of rape and molestation, saying he was no longer suspected.

Mr Assange denies any wrongdoing saying the accusations are "without basis".

When the allegations first emerged, he said their appearance at a time when Wikileaks had been criticised for leaking Afghan war documents was "deeply disturbing".

In July, Wikileaks published more than 75,000 secret US military documents on the war in Afghanistan.

US authorities criticised the leak, saying it could put the lives of coalition soldiers and Afghans, especially informers, at risk.

The decision to reopen the case follows an appeal by a Swedish woman who has accused Mr Assange of raping her.

At the end of the day, even if the charges against Assange stick, does this change the truth or otherwise of the documents he has performed a huge public service in releasing?

Do you really think he's doing a Public Service Jack, or trying to bring down the new world order ??

Maybe if our governments were more transparent about things like Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, renditions, the missing WMDs, water torture etc, there'd be less need for people like Assange and Daniel Ellsberg of Pentagon-Papers fame. When Ellsberg did his 'dirty deed' he was labeled a traitor, freak, betrayer.....a man to be stopped at all costs. It seems that history has given Ellsberg a favorable nod despite being villified by the pro-war neocons.
I'm not in favor of the wholesale release of classified documents just for the sake of releasing classified documents. But if they're contrary to what the government is spewing out, then I say, more power to them.

(09-04) 18:21 PDT San Francisco -- After years of mounting public pressure, Craigslist appears to have surrendered a battle over sexual ads on its website that some viewed as a test case for the boundaries of online freedom.

The popular San Francisco classifieds site removed its controversial adult services section late Friday, defiantly replacing the link with the word "censored."
