Udon's original and best quiz night is still going strong at The Retreat, now into its 21st month. Those who have never been are missing a real opportunity to do something different once a month.

Some images from last night

Next quiz - Thursday 25th November.

Food goes out at 7:30 this is to entice contestants to come early so that I can arrange the teams ready to kick off for 8pm. We are usually able to have 4 teams of 4, and the winning team get a 200bt voucher (each member) to spend at the next quiz.

New faces are always welcome, we had 3 new guys in last night, hope you all enjoyed yourselves if you are reading this.

... and here we are 25th November, the moment you've all been waiting for - Yeah!! I know you all get excited around this time. The last quiz night was brilliant, I don't know why but sometimes the banter is funnier than usual, either the crowd is on form, or I'm in a better frame of mind to take your punches, but I just want to say I really enjoyed the last one, bring it on (ha).

Just starting to put pen't'paper now, yes it takes me 3 days to gather all the questions, I find it more bearable working 2hrs each day for 3 days rather than 6hrs in 1 day, mind I suppose 3 days to put the quiz together is nothing, I heard of this one quiz master who takes months to put his together (ouch!!).

Anyway guys, you know the format, where we are, the time it starts.

Remember we don't do 50:50; if you ask the audience they'll lie; and you're not allowed to phone a friend, so the next best thing is to bring your friend with you

I know it's been a long time posting, but the quiz at The Retreat has been going like clockwork every last Thursday of every month, we've been having some excellent numbers as well. For my regulars that use the forum, don't forget this Thursday (26th) is quiz night, and for anyone who fancies doing something different, all individuals are welcome (you do not need to form your own team) I generally team people up, spreading the newbies, the females, and the various Nationalities, to give an even spread of knowledge, unless that is certain people want to remain on the same team.

Food goes out at 7:30 to entice people to come early and we generally kick-off at 8-8:15pm.

Hi all, now we're in the off season again we're going to restart our Loyalty scheme, rather than explain how it works I'll attach an example, you can collect a voucher on your next visit.

Quiz night tonight, expecting a good turn out, but still room for some new faces.

The loyalty scheme has been knocked on the head (seems it was too complicated for some, what with use by dates and other tricky stuff) in replace is HAPPY HOUR (S) from 3pm until 7pm everyday we're gonna sell beer at rock-bottom prices, for those that have never ventured out this far (3km north of NongPrajak lake) a AC taxi will bring you here for 120bt - with 4 in the car you should cover the cost with your 1st round of beers

Hi Martyn - In answer to your question no I won't display my prices on a forum that becomes carved in stone for eternity.
I don't think I'm asking much for those interested in seeing my prices to pop in and have a beer, unlike all the bars in town, and as you well know, my prices are displayed in full view and always have been. Worst case scenario you pop in and get ripped off by 5-10bt because you can get it cheaper elsewhere, and you choose never to return. I'm not an hours drive away, we live 2.5km from each other. Anyway is price the only unit you should use when comparing, if one is a crumby, dingy little bar, with no pool table and a scruffy girl picking her nose behind the counter but their beer is 5bt less, do they win hands down, for some people maybe, for others a childrens' play area, smart uniformed staff and no dogs sniffing you may be of more importance??
