An American man from New York, a Mr Mark Ballack( Not sure of spelling)
aged 53 years was found dead in his room at the Chareon Hotel on Friday 4th
Foul play is not suspected as five packets(50pills) for sleeping were found opened alongside his body.He had apparently been dead about 8 hours before being discovered by a room maid.
May he rest in Peace.

Sad News

Ditto that.
Sometimes I wonder what makes a person so desperate as to take his own life?
Marital problems? Money woes? Eternal triangle? Gangland threats/blackmail? Business failure? Unemployment? Being jilted?
All these problems can, I believe, be solved, given time. One needs to, first of all, confide in some trusted people. They will look at the problems differently and be able to offer alternative solutions. At the least, one will feel better after speaking out.

So sad.

Tony from Singapore
Enjoy now. Tomorrow may never come.

Further information obtained from Udondee. com.
He left a suicide note asking for the Thai authorities to burn his body as he had no family back home, only a cousin. He had apparently tried previously to kill himself by tying a plastic bag over his head and sealing his mouth.
He checked into the hotel on 2nd August accompanied by an American friend who wasn't staying there. He booked into room 302 but changed the next day to 521 where his body was found. It isn't clear if the friend has been contacted.RIP

That's very sad news. I cannot even begin to imagine how bad things must be to take ones own life. I guess that with no friends or family around to turn to just made matters worse.

RIP

Definitely sad news.Depression is the major cause of suicide.Sounds like a classic case!IMO,there are a lot of expats that show the signs of depression. Many initially try to drown in alcohol, some are successful.Others try to fill the void with other''passions'',but eventually,if not somewhat treated, depression can be fatal.RIP

i get depressed once in a while, ok, maybe not, but all it takes is a cutey with a nice smile to remind me depression is a total waste of thoughts.

Your doubly lucky with your absolutely adorable little daughter and your companion from number 20, you must get more than your fair share of "nice smiles"Even though they are not intended for me, when we all sit together, I feel the reflected radiance and feel warm at seeing them. :D
