A warm welcome to our new news journalist

Is there any possility of searching out the local Thai news papers for articles specifically as to Udon. There are many sources for the national news, but this is a unique community. Man learning how to speak Thai even with the best instructor I have seen is driving me nuts, learning to read it just might be beyond my feable mind.

This is not a small village I'm sure there are new worthy events everyday.

But I still miss the old format in finding what is being discussed on the forum.

Ray, there is apparently only one local(Udon) newspaper and that is only published about once every two weeks, so not really a source of daily news . There is however several local internet sites, such as www.Udondee.com which has links to other smaller news sources. I understand Khun Kaew is perusing these for items of interest. Not easy however as my wife is an avid reader of these every morning but it is rare to discover an item with an international flavour that would interest the forum members. When she does she tells me and I publish anyway. I suppose the plain truth is not a lot goes on in Udon

Looks like a good source but since I don't read Thai yet, not much help at this point.

I think it would be interesting to see for example the Thai slant on the recent Suicide, the farrang robberies that occured not in the to far distant past. The robbries of young ladies on the bikeson the way home.

The Thai's view of the VFW party,. jut examples of things I would like to know more about. Maybe up coming events of interst, seems like thier always having a festival of some kind.

Anoher huge interest for me an english explanation of the Thai Holidays we certianly have a lot of them. I'm not even sure that all the Thai's really understand.

From time to time there will be little "Gold-Nuggets" of news storys to post on the Home page News section, so its got to be worth keeping.
