Red letter days

Can anyone tell me why some days on the home page calender are in red? I thought at first they indicated a happening of some sorts, but after clicking they just say no events found. Strange

The days marked in red indicate new news articles and/or new events. When you click on the day marked it red it will show a list of the news or events for that day.

Good answer Lee. Have you tried clicking on 19th today, No events to show you.

The current day has a red marker top and bottom but this does not indicate new news or events, a marker in the top left indicates new news and/or events.

I hope this clears up the confusion.
