We've been troubled by Tookays over recent weeks, as in suffering disturbed nights.
I think we must have had a family or harem of them, as I've despatched 2 over recent weeks, but there's still one left. This one may have seen the previous one being despatched, as it's keeping a very low profile, staying in the roof overhang throughout the evening and calling out about every 10 minutes. It seemingly doesn't dare come out, at least whilst we are up and about. I can only guess it comes out well into the night when everyone has gone to bed.
I only once heard it and spotted it round the other side of the house, and when I went after it, it "legged it" at high speed round the corner and then straight up the wall towards the roof and out of sight. Since then it seems to just stay in its bit of roof overhang and doesn't come out whilst me or anyone is about. I don't suppose I could lure it out with a female on a pole or stick?
The bugger has squawked 3 times whilst I have been typing this.

As it calls out I assume it is a male. Perhaps I've been despatching it's female partners and its now calling out for new ones. Hence its rather persistent and oft repeated "tookay" calls

There's even a little bit of an extended croak trailing off at the end, as if its a bit sad and forlorn.
