Monty Python Star In Cancer Battle
Sky News Saturday October 21, 10:25 AM
Monty Python star Terry Jones has been diagnosed with bowel cancer, according to reports. The 64-year-old dad of two will have surgery next week, says The Sun. Doctors are apparently confident that he will recover as they diagnosed the disease early, the newspaper has reported.
His Swedish girlfriend, Anna Soderstron, 23, has apparently been with him at a private London hospital.
His agent said: "He is in great spirits. We're having to stop him working."
The star was told the news by doctors last week, a few days before the West End premiere of musical Spamalot.
Jones is the creator of the Monty Python team which included John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle and Terry Gilliam.
