kopkei wrote:this is an easy one , been there at a few occasions ,the food is ok , not special but way to expensive for the small portions you get compared to the price , fe lamb stew 490 baht with 4 pieces of lamb and 1 potato, onion soup ( onions not expensive i think ) in a tiny mokka cup and 150 baht , so only thing i can advise them is either lower the prices according to the quantity you get or maybe the best solution give more food for the (to)high price , so we do not have to leave still hungry ....and empty wallet....meant as advice .... ;)
Yes I agree with that. Took a group there recently, we had excellent service and the food was well presented but everyone said the same, expensive for the size of the dishes .The price would have been acceptable for larger portions, but we were all still hungry, including the Thai's . So its not a farang big belly thing .It was even more noticable as it is almost next door to the Prajaktra where for less than half the price we are bloated after their lunch buffet .

Best value meals for me at GE are the pasta dishes with a choice of the filling and type of pasta......220 baht.
Also the Beef Masaman curry and Japanese Pork Curry both with rice and roti are quite filling at 250 baht.
The Belgian beers at 170 baht are competitively priced.....Korne Tripel (10%) Delerium Red (8%) and Delerium Tremens (8.5%) being my favourites.
I just find it a nice relaxing place to chill out and enjoy a couple of beers without any hassle.

This place seems to get a lot of mixed comments/reviews so after a couple of booze deliveries this evening Dao n I dropped into GE for her belated birthday nose bag , very busy indeed we got the last free table .

Along with a couple or three Belgian beers we went for the Falling star seafood salad , Khao pat sapparot and beef masaman followed by a cheesecake and an apple crumble ... can only say it was all excellent could not fault anything . It appears K. Pell the owner is getting her staffing issues sorted which added to an lovely evening .

Only real problem was the bill ..... at just over 1000 bt great value under for such quality and location but i realised i had forgot my wallet so Dao had to pay .... never done that before :^o so embarassing

I do agree the GE menu is a bit unusual as are some of the ways the dishes are presented and portion sizes but i only give a positive for the stuff we ordered ....twas bloody smashing .

No recent postings :-k but picked up the latest magazine from a sponsor today and did not realise they had changed their opening times to 11am - 10pm, so presumably the breakfast option is history now :-k

Pel,the owner of Good Everything restaurant has just phoned.....she made a mistake with the Set menu B price......

The Tiger Prawns option should only be 750 baht and not 890 baht,as previously posted.
The set menu also includes soup, dessert and coffee or Hot Chocolate.

The price for Set A,the Lamb Shank option, remains unchanged at 790 baht.
Also includes soup, dessert and coffee or Hot Chocolate with this option.

Note from Mod.: We've adjusted your earlier post to correct the price.

It is nice to see that my first impressions still apply, over priced and portions small, that was what it was not long after it opened and to be honest, , yes the food was good but the price and size of the portions were smaller than similar offerings at other restaurants.
So I have declined to continue eating there no other reason than I cannot justify the expense and still feel hungry. I note the point about the pasta dishes, but to be honest if I want pasta I cook it myself. The idea of eating out is to eat what I cannot cook properly and enjoy the ambience . Not to worry about the price and portion size.

Yes I agree, went there last night as it was always my place to go and was very disappointed, the servings were a lot smaller than my last trip in April, a mix up by the staff caused a food swap to the wrong customers and our food was cold by the time we got it.
