Thai Airways Scales !!! - 10% error

Post by wazza » April 25, 2016, 9:07 pm

Checked in at Udon today ( Thai Smile ) 1 x bag 17.2 kg

Checked in at BKK ( Thai Int ) 19.1 KG

Nothing added or removed etc

approx. 10% ERROR on one of the check in scales

If anyone is challenged to pay excess baggage , might ask to see the calibration certificate , and if its in date.

Call their bluff

BTW have written to TG on it also

you could always ask to have it re-weighed on the scale at the next check-in window..

wazza.......Master Po would have told Grasshopper.......you didn't get screwed. The Udon scales were off by 10% and you should go back and pay them for the error. See that? All better.

Finally got a reply from Thai Airways to say that the scales at BKK were in calibration and they have referred the issue back to Thai Smile to comment.

Its not a matter of xs baggage , but perhaps the Aviation experts might comment on fuel loadings vs the freight manifest , would 10 % error be acceptable ??
