goodison wrote:Liverpool's Sadio Mane missed the decisive spot kick as Cameroon beat Senegal 5-4 on penalties to reach the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals.
Mane, Africa's most expensive player, was denied by Fabrice Ondoa, Vincent Aboubakar hitting the winning penalty.
The result means Mane is likely to make a swift return to his club Liverpool, who suffered a surprising 2-1 home defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
My Oh My. A Conspracy Theory anybody? :-"
goodison, are we on about the the same player, mane????the guy who scored the winner in the derby????????????????????? \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ old age is a terrible thing ,lol

Last nights results......
Millwall 1 Watford 0......a surprise or was it really ?
Sutton United 1 Leeds United 0..... Gary Monks decision to make 9 changes from the side that beat Nottingham Forest backfires badly.
Fulham 4 Hull 1.....again,a weakened team gets hammered.
Manchester United 4 Wigan Athletic 0.....but this "weakened team" wins comfortably.Nice to see Schweinsteiger back and on the scoresheet.

The draw for the 5th round will be made later today, not that it matters to most of you now I guess ! :D

I was asked, yesterday, which UK TV channels was showing what games... I didn't have a clue - I even thought that ITV were showing some games..
So here is the real deal news.. :D
Five Emirates FA Cup fifth round games have been selected for live TV coverage by the BBC and BT Sport.

The round kicks-off on Saturday 18 February with two games being televised on BT Sport 2, starting with Lincoln City’s trip to Burnley's Turf Moor at 12.30pm.

And the game between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea at Molineux will also be screened later that day at 5.30pm.

The following day sees the London derby between Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur being shown live on BBC One at 2pm, before BT Sport are at Ewood Park for Blackburn Rovers’ clash with Manchester United at 4.15pm.

Finally, BBC One will show the tie between Sutton United and Arsenal at Gander Green Lane, with the Gunners making the trip across the capital on Monday 20 February for a 7.55pm kick-off.

Unbelievable result by Lincoln City & more disappointment for Leicester City.
Citi look unconvincing, while Chelsea march on.
Middlesbrough have struggled to score goals this season & looked in real danger when Oxford scored 2 in a second half minute to level the score. They managed a 3rd. though with 4 minutes to go..

An even better result for the lions when you consider it was still 0 - 0 when they were reduced to 10 men in the 52nd min. For a league 1 side (that's the same league as Scunthorpe ffs  ) to beat the Prem champions with 10 men and STILL not be the giant killers of the day :-k
FA Cup now going EXACTLY the same way as League cup went 20 or so years ago

All of the "Big boys" are still 'anging on in there though......

Chelsea/Man U/Man C/Arsenal/Spurs

Statts,
I suggest that none of the above performances match the fairytale FA Cup performances of the Yeovil team players , on their infamous sloping pitch, now football folklore. =D>
Bit before your time, so you will probably have to resort to your computer. \:D/

Remember Yeovil's ground .....was there to see Romford lose several Southern Lge Prem games many many years ago

Bit too young to have seen or remembered Blunderlands moment of fame there though  ........ if I'd been old enough for that I would have been able to see Romford FC play at Wembley Stadium later that same year :-"

Great result for Lincoln and if Sutton turn over the Gunners tonight we will have an all Conference quarter final.
What odds on that happening ?
Chelsea v United.....oh dear. 8-[

And the "PRIDE OF LICOLNSHIRE" (that'll go down well in some parts ) odds were cut to 100/1 to win the cup after their victory at Turf Moor.

Wonder what price they will be if they have to play Sutton in the q/f :-$

Wouldn't it be good if Sutton can go through , we would have a non league semi finalist. You have to love the cup

Share out from the q/f gate money will be pi** poor though :-k

If the Spuds get to the semis, will they play their s/f and or final at OldTrafford as Wembley will be anything but a "neutral" venue for them :-"
