Udon rooms

Postby MuayThaiguy » March 28, 2007, 9:21 am

After reading reviews and looking at the web it seems the Irish Clock Guesthouse is a good place to stay. Do you agree? It says it only has 7 rooms. If we book 1 day before do you think we'll get a room? Other than that The City lodge gets good reviews on Travelfish.

The Irish Clock is typically booked full all the time. As a result, it is necessary to book further in advance than just one day. One week might be a better idea.

excellent place to stay, well appointed rooms and nice pub downstairs. as pointed out, little advance helps when booking, though i was lucky enough to book yesterday for today. good luck.

Can anyone help a noob out here and offer any advice on what to do about reservations? I'm arriving on 29th April. Does anyone think I would have a problem looking for a room for around a week when I arrive or is it best booking in advance. I'd like to have a look around first. I'm not sure if this wil be a busy time of year.

I say around a week as problem is I don't know how long I will be staying in Udon. The big hotels want upfront and in advance payment when I look at reserving through their sites! Not good if I decide to move on early!

Don't worry there will be plenty or rooms all over the city,be it nightly or monthly rent 8) Have a look at the sponsors adds on the home page and pick a few that interest you, write them down and tell the taxi at the airport where you want to go......you dont have to book the 1st room you find ,and you can ask to view the room before you decide...if you dont like the room be polite and say no-thankyou and you wont upset anyone then look elsewhere 8)

Thanks guys! I've done a lot of reading through the forums and looking at hotels sites but there are so many mixed reviews! All it takes is one bad review and I start having second thoughts! So I'd prefer to look and judge for myself! Hopefully arriving in Udon around lunchtime so should be plenty of time to find something. I'll note a few down as you said and have a look around when I arrive.

Cheers steadyjohn. I'll check out top mansion. :D
