Ban Chiang Archeological site, Winery & Home Stay

I visited the Ban Chiang Archeological site and museum over the weekend. Unfortunately the new museum is still under construction, so a temporary building is in place with limited displays. I imagine once it's finished it will look impressive. I'm sure the completion date isn't far off so it may be worth waiting a few weeks/months before you visit or you may be a little disappointed. Still there are plenty of photo opportunities, and lots of handicraft shops to look around. A short distance from the museum is the excavation pit within temple grounds.

If you enjoy a glass of wine there is a winery just a short distance from the museum entrance, I have marked the location on the map below. They also host a home stay if you sample too many wines LOL. The Ban Chiang Winery offers the following; Tour, shopping, free wine restaurant, tasting, steak/BBQ, picnic and fishing.

The mamao wine was ok, however after tasting several glasses they all tasted pretty good, hic!!
