Hi Bob4you, April 5, 2008
Thanks for the inquiry.
The price of the prototype did not enter in to the end cost as the manufacturer built it at his expense for reference and refinement of the working mechanisms for the first production model, and later orders.
He knows I'm a stickler when it comes to Quality Control.
We special ordered the heat resistant paint primer which takes heat to 600F, and have an ample supply. The silver/black mix finish coat takes up to 800f.
The motor is a brute and turns at 10 RPM, another difficult find, but is available to us now.
This is a time consuming and labor intensive unit to handcraft correctly.
It is not inexpensive, however, it depends on how one looks at it.
Our Pig BBQ/Roaster, price; 55,000B
With steel prices surging, along with across the board increases in overall manufacturing costs, this price may be increased in the near future. We’ll keep the current price as long as possible.
In the picture below is a current price comparison.
This imported counter top, assembly line made, half steel/half stainless barbecue can
be purchased in Bangkok, and shipped to you unassembled in a cardboard box for 59,900 + shipping.
You can see the differences in size, material, labor involved, and price, of our Quik-Fire large Hand Crafted commercial Barbecue/Smoker.
