Their information is a bit sketchy but it seems that the places in front of Robinsons will knocked down and the land is not for sale; however, places in the area might be. This has put some Thais in a state of excitement because they hope to buy land in the vicinity.

The car park might be a diversion by the new owners and not really be part of the plans. The main point is that they want to build this Central Super Store. One of the informants indicated having a beauty salon inside Robinson's gets a profit of between 40-80,000 baht a month: 'if the lady no die the beauty and spa can open and got money'.
We will see.

My Thai lady informants are very good after all. They are probably correct that many Thais are getting excited about the prospect of renting in this area for the many customers that will be attracted to the area.

Seems like a pretty small piece of land for a Central Department Store & Mall of the magnitude that is common in Bangkok. It would be a bit of a disappointment if they only built the department store without all of the attendant smaller businesses. Heck- there is already most of the Minor Food Group restaurants in the complex (Sizzler, Dairy Queen, Pizza Co. -is ther a Burger Kind yet?0. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, as long as there is a large multi-level parking garage.

Now THAT is a serious development, and one I had not anticipated. WThey must have sold a lot of flowers from that location, so they must be selling them somewhere else now. here do we go for flowers?

I notice that the "NEW FARANG ALLEY" area has now been flattened and work on building can commence. Also MC's has been shut for a couple of days ...... very strange ........ does anyone know if that is to be flattened too? :? :?

Anyone else notice that the walls/signs announcing future construction of Udon Center on lot next to train station have been mostly knocked down/stolen/MIA? Too far from complex for a parking lot....maybe another night market venue? :D

Yup, noticed it last week. Up by the main street the signs removed and a building was being demolished, but that was it. Haven't noticed any activity since then.
