Posting replies

Over the past few days, the following message continually pops up after typing a reply to a thread: 'Invalid Session Message. Please resubmit the form'. One does not mind re-copying messages because we (or some of us) might think they are witty and brilliant, and just love to read our words over and over again; however, even the most dedicated copyist finds the exercise a bit tedious after the tenth attempt. And, by that time, reality hits home and the message tends to appear rather superficial and uninteresting.

If you get this error message please click your back button and click submit again, there is no need to copy and paste the message.

The reason for these errors is because of an added security patch in the new version of phpbb. Removal of this makes the forum more vulnerable to hackers so they don't advise deleting it. It has something to do with comparing the users IP's to their session ID's, users using AOL may experience more problems because their IP address is constantly changing, therefore by the time the user has written the message they have a new IP address and then the system is unable to pair the IP and session ID together.

Hopefully this issue will be ironed out in the next release of phpbb.

Thank you. I have not had any problems since this morning, which hopefully, means the problem has gone far away and can be soon forgotten...sort of like the ex-wife! Or perhaps that is what she said about me! Whatever. Thanks again for the explanation, which is much appreciated.

Just noticed, can reply to adds in classified forum When did that start?
Also, the signatures have disappeared again.

I changed the permissions last week, I was going to do it earlier but fogot all about it.

This was removed along with the profile website button and various other options to protect this forum from spammers.
