Being slightly paranoid I would be worried that they were not actually failure to deliver notices, but spam messages which may contain some kind of virus.

Try reporting them to Hotmail via their feedback option.

At the bottom right of my Hotmail there is a feedback option which takes you to a page where you can send Hotmail a message.

Stan
I don't want to cause unnecessary concern but could it be that your email address has been hacked.
The first thing i would do is change your password and run a virus check.
I'm no computer expert and may be completely wrong.
I'm sure someone on UM will be be able to offer help and solve your problem.
Good luck [-o<

It sounds like you have been hacked Stan - or rather your e-mail has.
Change the password is a MUST.
Run a scan on your pc as well.
I had mine hacked as I foolishly used an unprotected PC in a library in the UK to access my mail. I could not delete my 'history' when I exited & some idiot opened an infected e-mail some 3 weeks later & it captured my (as well as anyone else who had used the pc) hotmail account.
Lesson learnt by me!!!!!

Some trojans tap into your email account and send out emails from 'you'. Typically, these emails will direct the receiver to click on an embedded link. The receiver sees that the email is from 'you', so it must be okay to open. They click. And the cycle goes on.
I never ever ever never open an email from anyone with an embedded link that doesn't have some telltale sign that it indeed came from the person who sent it. Usually, a line or two of text is enough for me.

Stan, This is not just a problem for you, my wife had the same problem yesterday with e-mails being sent to all her contacts with an add for Viagra to be bought from Canada Drug, and showing her e-mail as the from address (we are in the U.S.). This is probably due to someone hacking a Hotmail server and getting passwords and user names. She changed her password to a more difficult one and no problems so far today. Spent 2 hours sccanning her laptop and their were no viruses etc.
