It is situated at the far side (from centre of town viewpoint) of Nong Prajak Park, hence the name I guess.
It is just about walkable, as I have done so, in the right weather conditions. Really a tuk tuk ride though. Just about the smartest Hotel in town at the moment I would think.

I live a block from the Prajaktra hotel. Nice place, good lunch buffet and nice place to drink, on top, in the evening. I have only heard good things about it.

Stayed there one night this week. Just a superior room , the cheapest. rack rate 2,800++. Special rate of 1,980bht inc of two good breakfasts .Superb hotel in all respects from the moment you check in at reception to when you check out . The staff, although not many speak English, are extremely polite and helpful. The food is first class and plentiful both at lunch and in the evening on the roof top restaurant. The latter must be the most romantic dining experience in Udon , with a panoramic view of the park and lake, accompanied by nice relaxing music. There is a circular bar to just sit and drink if you don't want to eat .The food, whilst just a little pricey, after all it's a hotel, was very good , with a menu of both Thai and international food .For me it stands head and shoulders over other local alternatives. Highly recommended .
