What i think is funny is that Reina goes to save the beach ball.
I mean, how do you confuse a beach ball with a football. Perhaps he's been spending too much time on the beach with his kids.

Could turn out to be the most expensive beach ball in history if the dropped two points it caused, turn out to be the difference between getting into the Champions league and NOT

Is it 'Just Me', or the 'Stop/Start' we have had to the Premiership this year.
I am struggling to get too excited about it....
United top - and my view of the team that they are playing says it must be the poorest standard of Premiership Football on record.
Chelsea second & equally unexciting this year.
Arsenal going for it with a youth squad. The only team that seems to have 'hope for the future' - except the better ones will drift away in the summer...
Liverpool struggling & currently out of contention for anything. Normally I would find that at least amusing but I think it is a case of 'there for the grace of God' for any of the top teams....
Maybe another good run for the English clubs in Europe & England in the World Cup will cheer me up!! :D :D

Really I think the goal should have been disallowed as the beach ball was definitely a distraction or even "interfering with play" but Liverpool lost which is what they deserved from a poor performance like that......I wonder if the Liverpool fan who threw the beach ball on got a bit of a kicking ?
And a big bonus yesterday with Chelsea losing to Villa despite being gifted the lead by a howler from Friedel.
Thats two defeats out of three now for Chelsea.Maybe shades of Scolari with Ancelloti ??
Liverpool, four defeats in the league already. No way are they genuine title contenders with that squad.
So United are back on top but very wary of our main rivals for the title.....Arsenal & Manchester City ! ;)

You would have thought that one of the four officials would have known the rules of the game !
Big week for the reds with both Lyon & Man Utd at home this week.Make or break.
The season seems to be cursed so far.

Lot of talk in the English press I hear about the "rules" stating that the game should have been stopped, and re-started with a drop ball ........... mmmmmmmmm Where do you draw the line?
If every game in the 70's was stopped when a toilet roll landed on the pitch, or every game in Italy/Greece/Turkey etc was stopped every time a "flare" landed on the pitch, they would still be playing at midnight !!

So's them right .......... make the bloomin' prima donnas play with a PROPER football ......... the one's I remember would have put the beach ball in row z and not deviated one centemetre

Dont forget that they change the clocks in the UK at midnight on Saturday so Sundays matches will be 1 hour later in Thailand.eg.Liverpool v Manchester United is 14:00 in England so will be 21:00 in Thailand.
Thats 9pm Sunday night for those not sure.
Should be a very very interesting game.I'm just wondering if Liverpool lose what chance Benitez quitting given Liverpools poor start to the season and his tenuos relationship with the two American owners ?
Also, what chance of a red beach ball finding its way onto the pitch at some stage in the game. :D

Its certainly a very big game for the reds but I cant see them getting rid of Benitez if they lose.
They cant afford to for one thing and its not really his fault they are in a bit of a mess at the moment.
Those two corrupt cowboy Yank owners,Gillet and Hicks, should be the ones shown the door.
Anyway,if and when we win.....crisis,what crisis ?

To be honest I think Liverpool fans deserve a better deal than they are getting at the moment. There getting screwed from both ends. The co owners apparently don't talk to each other and the financial backing that they promised when they came to the club has not materialised. What happened to the new ground they promised?
Benitez has lost the plot. In the 5 years he's been there he's spent 220m on 76 players, yet this week they had to rely on David N'gog as there one and only striker. Surely this is proof that getting rid of Crouch, Keane and Bellamy is poor management. Fortunately for all the other football club supporters Benitez wont go because it will cost Liverpool 20m in compensation.
All the time Benitez, Hicks and Gillette are in control I can't see Liverpool remaining a top 4 side.

Interesting read Galee.
Certainly do not think that the American twins in charge has helped (but neither has the American brothers at Man U :D ). If the results do not improve I am sure they will be happy to throw him to the wolves (or any other team :D ) to protect their own position.
I am puzzled by Benitez a little - he always seems to be NEARLY there, and then next season NEARLY there again - with the NEARLIES always different.... :D
Saying that: I am just hoping that we don't have a repeat of last season on Sunday. I still cringe with embarrassment when I think about last season - thank God that United won the League, otherwise I would have never heard the end of it!!!!

Well, the only comfort I got from Uniteds dire performance against Liverpool was that I have Torres in my Fantasy League team !
Berbatov and Ferdinand have been shocking this season. The only plus point...the return of Van Der Saar in goal.
Cant see either United or Liverpool making much of an impact in the Champions League this season....quarter finals if they are lucky.....Liverpool werent that great last night either.
But,surprisingly,Citeh and Arsenal only drew......still think the title is for Chelsea to lose.

I thought that Liverpool played harder and more aggressive than Man Utd.!
I also thought that the new ref was intimidated by the home crowd and missed some calls.1 penalty shot should been awarded to Man Utd,possibly 2,which would have probably changed the complexion of the game early on!

I thought Liverpool did a great job against Rooneys right foot positioning for shots!

I do agree that Chelsea looks the best this year!

Go Man Utd.

Well the United v Liverpool result was about what I expected. Not delighted with, but expected.. :D
Agree that United will not make much of an impact anywhere this season (if they do then the rest must be dire). I think if Liverpool even make it out of the league stage it will be an achievement. Chelsea have not really done much to impress me but I think probably will win Premiership. Man City are proving that big money players do not necessarily a team make. Villa will flatter to deceive & probably slump towards the end again (but O'Neil must go to bed at night dreaming what he could do if he had half the budget of those above him).
I saw the first half of WH v Arsenal & thought I would wake up this morning to a 6 - 0 Arsenal win. WH were pathetic first half. All their midfield lacked confidence & the first thing they wanted to do when they got the ball was hoof it in the general direction of any other WH player. Definitely a case of pass the problem. Arsenal looked very much in control when expending little energy to look so. If anyone saw the second half I would be interested to know what they think changed..
