President Hotel - Udon Thani

Postby lee » June 24, 2007, 10:27 am

A new hotel called 'The President' is currently under construction and is due for completion in 3 months. This 79 room luxury hotel will host a swimming pool, spa, massage, restaurant, large parking areas, conference room, gym etc. Room rates are expected to be in the 700-800 baht range

It's located on the south end of Amphoe Road (approx map J16). The opening date will be announced here.

Here is a photo during the construction;

I hope it is the same president chain here in Bangkok,not someone thinking to use the same name as one of their hotels in soi 11,Bangkok to attract customers.
The Indians have certainly built up the reputation of their group here in Bangkok over the years.

The cows sleeping in the middle of Amphoe Rd should be an added attraction. I hope they have invested heavily in soundproofing. I lived within 5o metres of the site and it is very noisy with the Royal Thai Airforce and the Singaporeans when they are here.

Nahhh ...can't imagine an indian hotel company opening in Udon.
Looks like its going to be nice but then the low rise place's do look better than the high rise,and a reasonable price.

Interesting the hotel is now going to be called president hotel,maybe a polite solicitor's letter helped to clarify the situation.Otherwise probably said 'grand opening president hotel and Thais got confused along the way. TIT

The pool should be ready in 3 weeks too. They just have the tiling to finish off and then all that's needed is some naam.

Geez,from the pictures,if they took out the garden island and put in parking slots,it would look like a California motel!!You just need outside walkways to walk aruond the outside to your rooms? :lol:

I agree, with time when the gardens are established it will look nice.
The room rate is very competitive.

Reminds me a little of the Kasalong, my favourtite hotel in Pattaya.

My wife is always asking for accomodations as close to the ground floor as possible and prefers not to have to use an elevator. This looks like it could meet her requirements on our next visit to Udorn. :D
