Private Room - Udon General Hospital

Postby jackspratt » January 26, 2012, 8:20 pm

Has anyone stayed in the private (VIP) rooms at Udon Hospital? If so, I would welcome your impressions of the stay.

I am booked for a procedure next week, which will require me to stay in Udon on the preceding night, and include a lot of time sitting on the "throne". Meals will not be an issue. :D

I am happy to check into a hotel, but if the hospital room is OK for one night, it would seem more expedient to stay there, and just wander down in the morning for the hose up my ar......... (too much information). :D

Thanks

Private Room - Udon General Hospital

Postby randerson79 » January 26, 2012, 9:14 pm

A man went into the proctologist's office for his first exam. The doctor told him to have a seat in the examination room and that he would be with him in just a few minutes. Well, when the man sat down in the examination room, he noticed that there were three items on stand next to the doctor's desk: a tube of K-Y jelly, a rubber glove, and a beer.
When the doctor came in, the man said, "Look Doc, this is my first exam...I know what the K-Y is for. ...and I know what the glove is for...but what's the BEER for?"
At this instant, the doctor became noticeably outraged and stormed over to the door. The doc flung the door open and yelled to his nurse, "Dammit!! I said "a BUTT LIGHT!!"

Sorry off topic. "Butt" I had to do it.

About 3 yrs ago, a one time board member on here spent a few nights at Udon General. I believe he had a VIP room, actually 2 rooms, the other small room is where his family stayed. I visited with him on one occasion and was impressed. It was comparable to what AEK offers or a 3 star hotel room, if not better.

If the owner of that delucious doot on your avatar will also be getting the procedure, I'll hold the camera! \:D/

P.S. - If you're getting a colonoscopy, let me know how it goes. I still haven't gotten that colonoscopy after the Aek fiasco.

yup had the hell hubble bubble trubble scope up the old jacksie a couple of times, but not in Thailand. It always remind me when I am lying there watching the tv monitor, of that old movie where the mini sub is implanted into some guys body, and its traveling thru his veins..also the movie Alien, because its like something is trying poke its way out thru your stomach, as the doctor is feeding three miles of camera and tubing into god knows where...Murghys law had it, that on my day in hospital I had an audience of medical Grad students, it was like a mini football arena.. you can only but laugh..

However, in all seriousness, to many men die of prostrate cancer, including my dad last week. So get it checked out. dont leave it until its to late.

The 7 floor surgery building has 6 private rooms per floor. The seventh floor are the VIP rooms. Generally you have to book the room in advance. There is no guarantees that you will get the room, Generally VIP means either you are someone that is a VIP or has connections within the hospital. There are are approximately 16 VIP rooms of these only one or two are a little larger than the others. This floor is OK if you have minor surgery. The nurses on this floor are not specialist.

Thanks for all the info.

However, it looks like I will not be getting a room - we rang the hospital, and were informed that you can only book personally at the hospital. As I don't intend to make a special trip into Udon, or take a chance on availability when I get to Udon, I will book a nearby hotel instead.

Prajaktra Design Hotel is a stone's throw away Jack.

The hospital can be a real nightmare to park near as well, so might 'tick' a couple of boxes.
