Hi there ,
In May I will be visiting Udonthani and was looking for something similar myself , one of the places I am staying at is called BB resort , apparently located near to a lake and park not far from Teco lotus ? , maybe some of the ' old hands' on here will shed more light on this park , but it looks o.k , at weekends though probably a lot of joggers .

Here's the web link :

Good luck

Several nice spots for extensive quite walks ...

Postby ttom » March 25, 2007, 4:30 am

For example: Phu Foi Lom Mountain Park

It is a lovely tourist spot near Nong Saeng – huge and therefore usually quite.

Some landscaped gardens, many flowers, a nice natural walk with sweeping views over Udon Thani province.

Another one is Phu Chin Lat Cho Fa with his famous fossils park. This is near Nong Wua So.

All areas are well signed and fairly easy to find.

They all do provide beautiful sunny lawns or shadowed areas for picnics and playing football or anything else.

My folks love to go there. The pickup is always truly jam packed.

We take home made food but buy on our way some drinks and ice. Drinks and ice are available at the locations too at a very fair price. The kids like – as anywhere in the world – to buy some small souvenirs, usual pretty useful items for school.

Usually I invite my gang and cover all expenses. All around I never ever need to spend more than 2000 TBT for a very happy day with about 12 to 15 people of any age. My folks hardly drink any alcohol (sometimes after work a bottle of Leo of 3 or 4 people) and they don’t smoke; this helps managing a nice day at low costs.

There are some really beautiful spots in Udon Thani.
