Rabies Death in Rayong

Postby wazza » August 11, 2011, 6:41 pm

A professional colleague has advised me that approx 2-3 days ago, there was a death of a middle aged person from Rabies, after having been bitten by a local "Soi "dog.

Whilst this may be an isloated case it does highlight that fact that rabies is present here in Thailand and anyone whonis bitten by a dog who hasnt been vaccinated, particualrly a street / soi dog, then they do need to have a medical assessment.

A friendly reminder to us all, to have as a minimum an in-date tetanus shot.

I remember the news this time last year of chesty Sam Fox being bitten to a bone by a cat she was feeding and had to have a rabies checkup as the locals called the cat a 'crazy cat' so as Wazza stated, keep aware of problems over here 8)
