Realistically feasable...?

Realistically feasable...?

Postby nisakiman » May 23, 2007, 8:32 pm

Tgf and I are flying with Air Asia to Udon on Sunday en route to Vientane for me to get a 60 day TV.

The flight gets in to Udon at 5.15 pm.

Is it possible to go straight to Vientiane on the same day, or will it be necessary to overnight in Nong Khai and cross over to Laos the next day?

Any recommendations on where to stay for one night in Nong Khai?

Any recommendations on where to stay for the next two nights in Vientiane?

I'm not a high roller, just looking for a comfortable, clean place with own bathroom and preferably air-con up to about 1000 baht I guess, but 600 would be better! :D

Any info/suggestions will be gratefully received! :D

You will not be able to cross until the next day!You can stay in Udon or NK.No problem getting a room within your price range .Plenty of rooms available as this is the slow season!

I am badmouthing the Pantawee. The owner scammed my Texas neighbors for 120,000 baht with phoney stock.Would appreciate it if you didn't stay there!Khiang Khong guesthouse or Huan Li apts are good options at 300 and 400!

120,000???

Not a very friendly thing to do!

We'll give the Huan Li apts a bell tomorrow - thanks beer monkey.

Anyone know about places in Vientiane? I've checked out the web, but never having been there before it's difficult to know what's convenient and what's not.... :?

Also, when you look at pics of the rooms on websites, they all look like presidential suites, but the reality.......

Well, you know what I mean, I'm sure...

After Stan's last post about teaching - I am not sure that I would blindly accept his statements about the Pantawee.

How about posting more details before you make slanderous statements about a business Stan????

You would demand the same from me.... :D

nisakiman

some good info here on places to stay and eat.

I stayed at the Beau Rivage last December, the pictures on their site are pretty accurate, but it's over your 1000 baht per night budget.

If I make a perceived ''slanderous statement'',I am willing to accept the legal challenge! This is a fact that I stated and I will not discuss the intimate details with you!
If the owner of the Pantawee would like to dispute it.That would be fantastic!

can also recommend the Khiang Khong guesthouse, stayed there, 400 baht, new, , safe w/sitting with sitting area overlooking mekong. 2 more fairly right next to the place. brendan's across the street has decent food and good priced beer.

have heard some negative reviews of Pantawee, if the one that is not on the river and has the katoy working there at front desk, i think. visited and didnt stay, not impressed at all.

Then she will decide where we will stay...

Cheers all! :guiness:

Having stayed at both, I still much prefer and would recommend the Huan Lai apartments. Better value for money and location. :D
