Romantic places to take a girl in Udontani

Postby Rideswings » December 15, 2011, 5:42 pm

Im just wondering about some romantic places to take a girl at night near the Mueang Udon area. Weve been to Jeremys Bookhouse which is like a scene from Paris, we've been to Nong Prajak restaurants overlooking the lake, but Im about to run out of ideas. An inexpensive restaurant with a nice ambiance would be nice but it doesnt have to be a restauarant.

Any romantics out there have any suggestions?

Gracias.

You could try the first Thai restaurant (if you are on the by-pass heading away from old Big C towards Global house) on Nong Lek, at about W11 on the Map.
A while since I have been there I admit, but they were making the lake side seating area larger the last time I went.
Fair quality upper end (on style & price :D ) Thai food.
At weekends they used to have some fairly decent Thai acoustic musicians playing, which was pleasant without being too intrusive.

Good Everythings used to be the only place in town really, but hear good & bad about it nowadays (in about even numbers :D ) & it certainly could not be classified as cheap either..

The restaurant in the Prajaktra Design Hotel if you want to impress... :D

Or, maybe just invest in a car blanket & picnic hamper & retreat under the trees in Nong Prajak itself....cheap, for sure... :D

On that rare occasion that we have a night to ourselves we like the Western pub. Live band, not too loud and a light menu. We usually dine elsewhere and then chill out at WP.

Also, Toon Koon hotel roof top bar (Grid K-9 on map). Been awhile since we've been, but they used to have a live band which played soft rock and you get a view of the city lights.

That's a good one! I’m thinking about marketing a plastic card holster for quick draw use at the ATM’s. Wife sez one that can be worn loosely over the shirt and have at least two slots, for either the left or right hand, whichever one was free at the time, would work best for her. I just need a work visa and sponsor....lol.
Hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast, hit 'em with the one they don't expect, and just keep hitting.

I think that the refurbished Centara hotel is due to officially re-open today.
It might be worth taking your tilac for a browse around and a bite to eat......in conjunction with a Xmas shopping expedition to Central Plaza maybe ?? :-$

Youre probably right, maybe it is I who want to be romantic and not she. Hopefully some of it might rub off on her.

Your quote made me remember that Im in Thailand, and many babies are conceived by the above method. Im gonna try this one out and see how it works.

I'm of to the Kinnaree Saturday buffet tonight, somewhat romantic with all the mixed couples in love, cheap even at 149THB/stomach and probably the best farang buffet around Isaan, cheers.

Has anyone ever been to the venue at the Napali Hotel, which I THOUGHT might fit the requirements here? It replaced the live music, very lively Mambo. Being outside Udon, I'm not even sure it's still open, but picked up from somewhere that it was more a restaurant with music, than previously disco/pub atmosphere.

Yes Rhythm the place for pretty, skin whitened girls to pose with a butt ugly, but wealthy Chinese-Thai boyfriend, that wear glasses that make them look like a WW2 Japanese sniper, drainpipe jeans and shiny plastic shoes in primary colours. Some nice looking cars in the parking lot.

I used to love Mambo and it's Coyote dancers.
