You could try the first Thai restaurant (if you are on the by-pass heading away from old Big C towards Global house) on Nong Lek, at about W11 on the Map.
A while since I have been there I admit, but they were making the lake side seating area larger the last time I went.
Fair quality upper end (on style & price

) Thai food.
At weekends they used to have some fairly decent Thai acoustic musicians playing, which was pleasant without being too intrusive.
Good Everythings used to be the only place in town really, but hear good & bad about it nowadays (in about even numbers

) & it certainly could not be classified as cheap either..
The restaurant in the Prajaktra Design Hotel if you want to impress...
Or, maybe just invest in a car blanket & picnic hamper & retreat under the trees in Nong Prajak itself....cheap, for sure...
