Dake, what I bought is an Air Card, the name is Fox Edge 700 but there are many brand- and type names.
I put it in a USB bus in the computer, after inserting the Sim card from the phone into the air card and the build-in software starts installing. As soon as that is done you can use it provided you have an account with AIS and money in the Sim card. As I posted I have the same speed as before: 460 kbps. I'm afraid that is all what you can get in a rural village if there are no land lines available, like in my village.
It's not so bad unless you want to download large files, that can take 2 hours for 20 MB, as I said this is rural Isaan life, relax and accept it with a smile...

A better option then is to hold the CTRL key and press the + (plus sign) key, this works in Internet Explorer and Firefox and will zoom in on the page.

You can also select a bigger sized letter, but that don't seem to work with the forum?

dake, at the top of every page (underneath the words "Advanced search" are three icons - not very visible, I will admit!!
The one to the far right (the letter A with an up & down arrow) allows you to slightly change the normal font size Up or Down 1 size. Either way is not a huge difference, but does make a bit of difference.
If that is not enough, just shout. If you use FireFox as a browser (rather than Internet Explorer) I am sure that there are some add-ons that will up the font size even more -
In the FireFox browser, View (on menu bar) Zoom In does also increase the size greatly, but not quite so easy to navigate around the screen maybe...

Hi guys
I've found out that there aren't phones in g/f's village so I think her local internet shop maybe has a satellite? She didn't know what I was suggesting so I'm non the wiser there.
I have purchased a Huawei E220 modem for the equivalent of 480baht (at today's exchange rate) & will be unlocking it with the help of my sons when I see them tomorrow. Apparently these are locked to Vodafone NZ at the moment.
Will I need to go to the Complex in Udon to get the right sim card & help there; or is there someone in Bandung (this is much closer to g/f's house) that can help? I now know g/f's village is 80km from Udon Thani, so although I will get to Udon at some stage during my stay, I don't really want to have to rush there as soon as I arrive if I don't need to.
