Salami in Udon Thani

Postby thalenoi » August 15, 2008, 9:15 am

A friend recommended a shop thanon Posri, coming from AEK, pass the bus station/shopping mall traffic light, approx 100m left hand side, shop think has sign super market. Couple elderly people seem to run the place, have several fridges in the middle.

Car was parked double, so made a very short visit, bought a salami, brand name Belucky, 550B/kilo. Excellent taste. Did not haver time to explore the shop any further.
Also bought some saussages same brandname, 210B/kilo. Will bake some today for tasting.

I noticed Lotus also has salami, have not been there recently, anyone tried the Lotus salami?

The Lotus salami is fine. Buy it all the time, to make delicious salami, cheese and pickle sandwichs on the Lotus french sticks .............hmm!, that has made my mouth water.

When is lunch time :D

I bring my own everytime and I get send sometimes, because I dont like the taste of salami you get from Tesco, Big-C. I even tried the salami from the guy close to the border in NK.

Sausages?
I fry them in some butter in the pan.
Had one from that shop at lunch time, excellent, although I prefer the "worsten" we have in Belgium.

For tonight will fry a sausage from by Nobi with self made mashed potatoes. Maybe he has something closer to the Belgian "worsten"?
BTW, I buy my potatoes at the big market 500m up Big C, deep inside, first shop in a hall left hand side. Paid 290B for 10 kg box, think they are chinese import.

Once I will have finished the 1.3kg salami will try the Lotus one.
Will have some room for other food items in my 30kgs bag next visit to Belgium, think I will replace the salami by smoked salmon (Norvegian or Irish)

That's the Udon Supermarket that has the Belucky Salami. Was there when Udon was a base for Vietnam. Same person running it. Best Salami I've found so far.
