Re: World Beer Index 2021

All a bit silly, really. All they have done is averaged the prices of a 330ml bottle between a supermarket and a hotel in the respective cities. While the supermarket prices should be fairly competitive (and comparable) in each city, the hotel prices could vary wildly, between a suburban pub, or a 6...

Re: renew drivers license

Thanks for that clarification. Just to further dilute the YMMV factor, did you have a Thai DL before you acquired the yellow book and pink card? If so, they may have used your passport number originally and then changed it to the locally issued ID during a subsequent renewal? Yes - initially used m...

Maybe that's their rules when it comes to foreigners but I wouldn't be surprised is someone does have their Thai ID number on their DL instead of their passport number.
Correct - my yellow book number is used on my Thai MDL.

Re: Udon Traffic

For an out-of-towner uncertain with road layouts, and contemplating a quick shopping visit into Udon, where are the likely problems? Proposed route would be Hwy 22 to stop at Big C, then proceed further along Nittayo for a u-turn to stop at Cheese 2Meat U. Arriving say mid-late morning. Return in th...

PS: If you don't have a sub for The Times, you can follow the 'debate' on the low-brow Daily Mail although none of their erudite readers appear to have commented yet. Alternatively, if you don't want to subject yourself to the Mail, and you want permanent access to The Times (and numerous other pay...

Is that the same Whitehaven that the Scots-born US Navy Commander burned to the ground before heading north to his home to steal a teapot?

Re: Immigration Heads-up

Interesting experience. After returning from ASQ recently I hadn't thought about reporting, as I have never done this before when coming back from overseas. My 90 day is not due until late April, and I will try to do it online. I understand this may not be successful because I have a new TM6 since m...
