Re: US Presidential election odds
My old friend (RIP) bought one of those plastic chairs with armrests. He cut the legs off enough that he could sit and cross his legs in front of him Thai style. Using the arm rests, he was able to get up by himself. Wherever he went the chair went with him in the back of his pickup truck.

Re: US Presidential election odds
It's interesting to see that since Trump is history, the hate group is still alive and well and now attacking each other. Carry on.

Re: Post Covid ecomony
Unfortunately there are no experts. Their opinions vary as much as board member opinions. There are no easy workable answers. How long will it take for herd immunity? This virus thing will have to run its course hopefully with help from vaccines. How long will it take for the world economies to reco...

Re: The Times they are a changing ..
This is Thailand and they may have a very good chance of legalized gambling. In the years before an individual was adamantly opposed to it so the idea was quickly dropped. Now with the old individual gone, they may be able to do it after this virus thing is over with.

Re: Australia plans to kill a pigeon
I was born and raised in Ohio. Twice a year we would enjoy the large V shaped flocks of Canadian geese migrating. The honking is distinctive and easily recognized. Somehow the birds got mixed up and decided to stay full time. People living near water became very defensive protecting their new "pets"...

Re: Australia plans to kill a pigeon
I have a condo in Jomtien. Pigeons **** all over everything. The condo committee was tasked with at the least controlling the flying rats. They couldn't come up with any effective way because some residents love the birds and even feed them. Any type of poison was out of the question. There were a ...

Re: Will Trump concede?
What I find astounding was the democrats campaign promise to unite the country. Now here they are wasting time and money to impeach a lame duck president. What possible good will that do? I also think that Pelosi is more disgusting than Trump himself. The big job now is to restore sanity and confide...

Re: Will Trump concede?
Wouldn't it be great if the useless politicians would stop their bickering and start to do their jobs? A huge waste of time and money. Politics is a dirty business and stinks.

I wasn't able to find a suitable converter here in Thailand. I went ahead and ordered one from China that looks like it will do the job. I didn't want to wait but I had no choice.

Re: NFL American Football
I have been looking for a way for several years. I have TOT fiber and it is fast. The best I have found is the play by play services. All this year I have been rooting for Tampa Bay. Since Tom Brady joined them, I have picked them to win the Super bowl. The next big game is New Orleans. They didn't ...

Re: catapult ( slingshot )
I bought a very good one off AliExpress and then bought a number of flat bands for spares. The bands oxidize so I keep them in the refrigerator. They last a long time like that. I used it to sting chicken killing dogs. The one dog killed the neighbor's chickens and that dog has disappeared. The neig...

Re: BITCOIN
I have been called a Luddite concerning Bitcoin. I simply never understood how Bitcoin could ever become valuable when it starts from nothing and is created through computers. Currency is backed by the government that issues it. If the government is good, their currency is good. I can put that curre...

Re: Solar panels
The smart pump checks the voltage every ten minutes and then the pump tries to start. Once it does start running, it keeps running. As suspected, the too small buck converter simply isn't big enough to handle the start surge, close but just not quite enough. The pump does start when there is no load...

Re: Solar panels
I'm beginning to think that the 384 baht buck converter is not up to the job. It does appear that the motor starting surge is just too much for the cheap converter. If the pump starts today with full sun, I'm going to call it good enough for now and order a higher quality converter. Since the existi...

Re: Solar panels
That's one more thing to try. It is a submersible and under water all the time but I could pull it out of the water to see if it will start and then put it back under water if it starts to run. My wife knows EVERYTHING and (really knows nothing) wants me to call the professionals who installed the t...

Re: Solar panels
This thing is making me crazier than I already am. I went back and turned on the panel and the pump runs. It is drawing about 5.5 amps. The panel is putting out about 8 amps at this time of day. I shut it off and it wouldn't start again. I left it alone for about 20 minutes, turned the panel back on...
