Re: Rental contracts

Thanks for the comments. What gets me is that, when we moved in, we accepted that, for example, the 3 piece suite was ageing. A spring has now gone and she is suggesting that the bond will be used to replace the whole suite when we move out. Add to this some of the shower/toilet fittings are corrodi...

Rental contracts

Just wondered what other people have experienced in this regard.... My present rental contract, in the usual way, makes me as tenant responsible for loss or damage to the property. In previous houses this hasnt extended to what I would call general wear and tear and dilapidation. The landlord made i...

Re: Cataract Surgery in Udon

Final (I hope!) update on this. I had my 2nd eye done on Feb 10 and went for my sign off last Saturday. All fine and long distance vision is great. I do need glasses for reading but was told this would be the case due to my severe astigmatism. Playing golf and jogging again now so, life is pretty mu...

Re: Grass Roots Football 23/24

The parachute payments last (I think) for 3 years so, it gives, in theory, 9 clubs a better chance of promotion. This season has been a bit of a fluke notwithstanding the parachute payments. I cant remember a season when the 3 promoted clubs performed so badly whilst the 3 relegated clubs were in th...

Re: Grass Roots Football 23/24

Nobody's talking football any more so, it gives me the opportunity for a quick gloat whilst it's going well. Leeds (luckily) beat Leicester last night to move closer to them at the top of the Championship table. The game was full of attacking football with an abundance of flair players from both tea...

Re: Essentially Monthly Income Credit Issue + rant

I'm with STWW. I've done several successful Visa applications for entry to the UK for a previous wife. When I applied for my current partner several years back, it was initially declined with no reason and £300+ wasted (including the trip to BKK) plus, God knows how many hours spent. I was so p**** ...

I think we have more disgruntled and dissatisfied members than happy and satisfied ones when it comes to immigration's annual anal probe.
Or is it that more tend to not whinge about any and everything, analyse every political and social situation, bitch about burgers etc.

Re: Cataract Surgery in Udon

The doctors name is On Siri. I'm pretty sure that she just works Saturdays at Srinagarind. We went to the main hospital reception desk to make an appointment for the first consultation. The surgery is also carried out on a Saturday pretty much as soon as you want. She leaves a minimum of 2 weeks bef...

Re: Cataract Surgery in Udon

The AEK thread prompted me to update this one! Not strictly Udon as I'm a Khon Kaener but, I needed surgery and visited a couple of hospitals in KK after recommendations from friends. I also wanted my vision corrected so I could do away with glasses which I have worn since I was 7 years old. Ram hos...

Re: Local Golf Courses - Up To Date Info

I'll let one of the locals confirm re Udon. I think it's about 1200 including buggies at Royal Creeek and, just over 1000 at Victory but, to the south.... Ubonrat costs me 410 including caddy fee as a member. I believe that's a 150 discount so, would be 560 for a round. Not sure about buggies but, I...

Re: Grass Roots Football 23/24

Despite the plaudits from the football luvvies, Morocco were very dull at the last World Cup. Their games in the knockout stages stunk the place out unless you enjoyed seeing France, Spain and Portugal pummelling a stout rearguard action with the latter 2 teams showing how toothless they actually w...

Re: Grass Roots Football 23/24

Not really grass roots but, Thailand look like bowing out of the the World Cup at the first hurdle. They got a pretty tough draw with China, South Korea and Singapore. A win in Singapore doesnt really compensate for a home loss to China because they'll get nothing from their games with Korea. Oz scr...

Re: Cricket 2023

Never really rated Head before the final where he had a great knock. In spite of their loss, I'd still put a few of the Indians ahead of him.

Not sure how good this person is but, it seems Canada are leading the way in trannys again

Congratulations to Oz on a great victory in the only sport that they're any good at these days
We're bloody good at footy mate. Unbeatable at Aussie rules. So that covers cricket and footy. What other sports are there :-k ?
Nice to have a sense of humour innit? Seems its lacking elsewhere 😀

Re: Everton receive immediate 10-point Premier League deduction

I reckon the EPL will find a way out of the Citeh fiasco. From what I understand they've been cleverer than Everton (not difficult) and, it will be difficult to prove anything without dragging down the whole structure which is in no-ones interests as other clubs would then need to be scrutinised (in...
