Re: Proof of Address letters
The letter is supposed to be free (or was) but I paid 200Baht last year. Takes about 15 minutes and time of day is typically "luck of the drawer". I doubt you will get one in English, probably need to get it professionally translated. I take Mrs Dero with her blue book and ID and I just use my passp...

Re: Re-entry permit at Udon Thani immigration
I just goto the Imm office or BKK departures armed with a prefilled TM xx form (forgot number for Re-entry) on which I attach a photo in the relevant box. Nothing hard about it!!!!

Re: Baltimore Bridge collapse
I suspect the Captain tried everything but was unable to do a damn thing, sort of like a slow motion film . And I believe there was at least one harbor pilot on board. Further to my post above re pylon engineering:- The bridge rests on four supports, two of which sit each side of the navigable wate...

Re: Baltimore Bridge collapse
A container ship loses propulsion and steering while leaving port on a falling tide (current from astern) and allides with a bridge pier causing the bridge to collapse, and it's Biden's fault? I hope you're voting for RFK. I'm thinking they are referring to a comment the original design engineer ma...

Re: Baltimore Bridge collapse
Frightening! Hard to imagine what it would have been like, as a motorist, having something like that suddenly collapsing from under you!
Now that's a quote! The 47-year-old bridge has now been closed to traffic

Re: Bank Account(s)
Good question, one could guess that so long as you have 2 x 12 Month Statements and 2 x Letters your OK = logical. BUT TiT so a trip to the Imm office maybe required. No guarantees that what they tell you this year will apply to next.

Re: Big increase in air fares
You probably qualify for the free shuttle bus service to DMK, I’ve used it a couple of times once I was the only passenger. If you don’t qualify you will probably only have waisted 5 minutes checking. Just need proof of forward travel from Don Muaeng. I have used the shuttle on many occasions, easi...

Re: Easy pop shots at OZ labor Govt.
Its about time Queelanders woke up to the lefty snowflake labor Govt. in their state. Next on the chopping block is the fed labor Govt. and a whole lotta body bags needed for that sleazy mob. How long did it take for the "banana benders" to wake up to being screwed by the Country party, Jo Begelkie...

Re: Big increase in air fares
Yesterday we tried 3 travel agents in Pattaya for a w/way ticket to UTH. First one quoted 3900 Baht. Second quoted 5000 baht. Called Thai and they quoted 5500 baht. Put phone down and went back to the first agent. She looked on line and told us " price go up to 5000 Baht", Then she said"No seats le...

Re: Recent Developments
It will end as it usually does with the military, business elites and certain individuals deciding the political fate of politicians who are deemed a threat to the status quo. Agreed, the outcome will end in another coup if the "Move Forward" party gains too much momentum and the puppet parties wit...

Re: ICE THIEVES
Does trying to charge for ice make good business sense? I don't think so. A bag of ice delivered is what - 40/50 Baht = the profit from one or two alcoholic drinks. Better off having a table full of happy customers than just a grumpy one, bitter and twisted after being charged for a little bit of ic...

Re: Liquids on airlines
<snip> So if carrying bottles of liquid from duty free onto the plane you must buy in the last stop before your destination. It has been this way for all the flights I have taken, possibly in the high hundreds. Or buy it at your port of arrival as most international airports have a walk through dut...

Re: Google Chrome VERY slow
As I stated in the OP W10 is fully updated.
Checked both Notebooks this morning using TestMy.net. Even worse result.
I've uninstalled Chrome, completed a registry clean and reinstalled without any improvement. Looks like I'll stay with FF for a while.

Have you tried a VPN to see if it improves your Chrome responsiveness? Yes Tam, I subscribe to Express VPN and have done so for a number of years. I have run the "Speedtests" with the VPN off (as displayed in the screen shots in the OP) and on through various locations including Singapore, Sydney e...
