Re: Jobs for young Thai people

here's a thought.. Do you have any friend or family with a good factory job down in the eastern seaboard area around Chon Buri and Rayong? If so a visit by the lad of a couple of weeks and checking out the companies might be beneficial. Perhaps he could go to a number of the plants and ask what qual...

ah yes, the somtam squat here in Thailand, the kimchi squat in Korea... I can still do it but don't find it comfortable and can't sit there endlessly.. It is a source of amusement to see your average Thai drop almost bonelessly into such a squat and sit for a long time..

no, the Japanese most assuredly could not have launched a trans-Pacific invasion of the U.S. 1. they didn't get our carriers at Pearl Harbor. 2. They didn't get our subs. 3. They already had the bulk of their troop transports and naval forces tied up with the invasion of the Philippines and the Dutc...

I'd have to say that over the last few months the operations tempo at the Air Base seems to have ramped up markedly.. The Joint training with the Chinese, then the Thais exercising their Gripens, then Thai F-16's now the Singaporeans with their F-16's... Thank God that when those jets are screaming ...

Re: Mandatory health insurance for Non O-A visa effective from 31 October

we did our 90 day check-in today. Went over and asked specifically about the insurance deal for OA Visas and was given a handout. I then asked about the Foreign Insurance Certificate and was told "No, you must buy one of the listed policies from the TGIA website." Another American was asking them ab...

the crudded up "screens" I removed was a few years ago. They weren't part of the heater input or output but actually behind the faucet fixtures (go figure that one!). They were completely clogged. One I couldn't remove but had to cut out of the pipe.. I'll try to get the de-calcifier stuff and that ...

back so many years ago after a number of false starts and spilled pails I learned to "dak nam" using the carrying stick and two 2.5 gallon pails. Back in the past in order to fill up the big clay water jars we had to go to the temple and pull water out of a 35 foot deep well and carry the pails back...

Re: Thailand’s bold decision to ban dangerous big-agricultural chemicals

the article explains that the U.S. position is based on fears that the glyphosate ban (and only that substance) will impact agricultural exports to Thailand from the U.S. where glyphosate is not banned.. Then the article conflates it all stating the U.S. is opposed to the ban on all three substances...
