Dream Lovers

'Barbarella' sure got my attention, too.

But back in my own adolescence, I had crushes that lasted about two years apiece for both Marilyn Monroe and Diana Rigg's Emma Peel.

I keep marvelling how popular these get-togethers have become since Paul originally inaugurated them, persisiting as he did despite being the only attendee for at least the first two, and maybe even three. He actually despaired of trying any longer. I think it was the fourth one that my wife and I m...

Hey, Ron -- here are a few of my favourites. Even when I was a teen here in Canada, I thought this guy was the coolest! I hope these links all still work: http://www.youtu...

Two Developments

A guy named Charles Delvalle wrote a piece on a three-wheeled hybrid vehicle called the Venture that I came across today. According to him: This three-wheeled, electric-only vehicle, goes 0-60 in seven seconds, can reach top speeds of over 75 MPH (making it highway capable), and can travel up to 120...

No Privacy

It's true -- no one has privacy anymore. And Britain, Othello, is aspiring to be as rigid as the worst: Britain is considering a massive government database to store the e-mails, Internet information, phone-calls and text messages of all residents to help security forces in the fight against crime a...

Man Sweat Good!

Newsweek had a piece last Summer or Fall about studies that indicate a majority of women are positively affected by the scent of male sweat.

Bless the dear, odd little things!

My Oversight!

Quite right, Pakawala! I misconstrued "cheap" for "common" somehow.

National Geographic has a short, effective description of these things:

Biologists think pufferfish, also known as blowfish, developed their famous

I think I've read before that puffers are used because they're cheaper than other fish. But just how common are the darn things, then? Can that really be true? -- they're more common than other fish? That seems a touch hard to believe.

Stan, I coincidentally tried getting into the site a week or two ago, too, but only got the warning that the domain could not be found...or something like that. I never got any access like you did. I wondered if maybe the Almighty Censors had finally stomped on him! But I've since heard that he's in...

Air Rage

How can someone flip out like this? The guy probably shouldn't be allowed anywhere outside the home without a serious escort.

By the way, the story behind this is that it's supposed to have taken place on an Air Canada flight to Europe last December.

Speedy Recovery

You sound in better spirits, Ron -- that's good, 'cause it was a miserable thing to read about what had happened to you. And thanks for clearing up just what "bazooka" meant -- I was thinking maybe it was your special name for a specific precious body part, and your poor wife was never taught the pr...

58-Year-Old Grandfather

My half-sister is in her early 60s. Not too long ago, she forwarded me that piece about the "old-timer" going on about how things were when he was young. And then the kicker came at the end of the whole spiel that this old guy was really a mere 58 years old. Supposedly, things had changed so much si...

Best Luck!

I wish you the best outcome with things back here, too, 38nholding. It must seem absolutely grim at times. Polehawk's right about the Canucks. One newspaper's headline was something like "Back On the Bandwagon!" after the Canuck's 6-2 win over the Calgary Flames a couple of days ago. Anyway, if it h...
