Today's BP has an article about a 3 day camp where kids learn how to identify and solve problems....all designed to boost self-confidence and bring out leadership skills.

At one point in the article, kids are asked 'what do you want to be when you grow up?'.
"An unexpected highlight of the first day's proceedings was when an uncommonly pretty little boy announced, ''I want to be an air hostess when I grow up.'' One of the facilitators corrected him, saying: ''Boys who become flight attendants are called stewards, not air hostesses.'' The boy didn't respond to this, but a shy smile crossed his face when several of his classmates piped up: ''But, but ... he really does want to be an air hostess, not a steward!'' It was only then that the facilitator noticed that the boy's toenails had been painted a fetching shade of purple"
I've seen this in my own village from time to time.....a young boy, dressed up in a blouse, pink wristwatch, painted toe nails or fingernails or both, a young girl's shoes on his feet. Sister/brother/or parent at his side. Nothing to hide. A bit of culture shock for the uninitiated!
