Here is a good website: http://www.canbypublications.com/

Hotels & other places to stay:
http://www.canbypublications.com/sihano ... hotels.htm
I like this website because it gives you the direct contact details for the hotels, no middleman to go through.

I've stayed at the Orchidee Guest House:
http://www.orchidee-guesthouse.com/
http://www.orchidee-guesthouse.com/engels.htm
Owned and run by a nice Dutchman, Jan, and his wife. Excellent service. 3 minute walk to the beach. Great restaurant! Delicious breakfast buffet included in room price.

ive decided to have a month or two there..

I recommend booking as soon as possible:

TRIP REPORT.. phnom penh 1st impressions.. in the uk theres the pound shop, here seems to be the worlds biggest $1 shop..some things have changed since i was last here some 8 years ago tho, th capital city has alot of new constuction not just hotels but many apartment blocks for the growing expat community, there is a large influx of backpakers also. the whole place has a feel of vientiene about it. been in an irish bar/restaurant here, quailty of food & prices bout the same as the irish clock. except th beer $1 ( beerlao, tiger, becks, san miguel etc.). internet only bout half th speed of thailand & i hear electricitys double the price, & has about the same amount of street sellers in pattaya & beggers in yangoon burma. .....................................................................GORDON

I would suggest that you purchase any foodstuffs you want in Pnom Penh to take with you to Sihanoukville. You won't find much Western food for sale in Sihanoukville...except at the Western Restaurants (which they all get in Pnom Phenh; translation: $$$).

Have been there many times over the last 5 yrs and have seen it grow rapidly.Lots of free publications available.Good beaches, cheap beer.I take the mrs(Thai) with me,she likes it. Now is the busy time of the year and hotels etc can be booked out. From Feb it drops off heaps. Very wet from about June. When the airport opens direct to Bkk or S'pore it will go the same way as Siem Reap.
There is a big supermarket, dept store being built, not sure if it's finished.Worth the visit, Phnom Phenn also.
