Slippery Slope

Postby parrot » May 14, 2010, 6:39 pm

There was an interesting, albeit sad, story in the ThaiRath newspaper a few days ago.........bride and groom getting ready for their big ceremony, the groom slips on a wet floor, smacks his head......end of story. Most of the wives/gf's have probably heard/read the story.......but I thought I'd add my words of warning as we enter another rainy season: the vast majority of our ceramic floors are extremely slippery when wet. And unless you're wearing a helmet while navigating these floors, one knock on the wrong side of the head is all it takes. A few years ago, Udon-vicinity lost an expat resident that way.
Besides our homes, the floors in front of many of the shopping areas downtown (like the complex) are ceramic tile floors.
The story is at

Now if rainy season would cooperate and get here before we all melt from the heat.

Speaking of slippery slopes ...

Bathtubs are also dangerous to navigate.
Fortunately, there are some available in town that come with an assistant willing to help you out safely.
