Republicans love Rick Perry. Why? I could say why, but it would likely be interpreted incorrectly. Let's just say it's for the same reasons they liked and elected G.W. Bush to two terms. I have a low opinion of Republican supporters because 99% of them (heh!) are even more clueless than the people they elect to office. And just how clueless is one of the people they hope to elect to the highest office? Well...just skip to the 01:15 mark from this clip of last night's Republican debate: :-"

Even a CNBC talking head can see the Republican candidates are just plain daft....

Olick is one of the few CNBC faces I can have some respect for. I wonder how long she will keep her job.

I guess Perry should have borrowed one of Obama's tele prompters to read from. And let's not forget the time Obama said he had visited 57 states as was reported on CNN today

"Perry should have borrowed one of Obama's tele prompters to read from"

Sorry, no comparison. Obama doesn't use teleprompters in debates. While I'm not particularly enthralled with Obama's use of teleprompters in his speeches (not debates), he has no problem talking off the cuff (in great precise detail) during news conferences where he has no idea what the question will be.

I have seen that teleprompter comment about Obama on many different sites, but I thought, and maybe I am wrong, that all Presidents or candidates when making major speeches use a teleprompter. I guess in the old days they used cue cards(?) There may have been an occasion when a major speech was made without a teleprompter, but I am not aware of it.

Yep, Obama did say that he had visited 57 States during a campaign appearance when he should have said 47.

All make slip of the tongues and people will repeat them forever as if it is a true indication of the person's intelligence. It makes for a nice sound bite at the time but after that it begins to look petty.

To give some context, this is the bloke who hopes to be Australia's next Prime Minister ie the leader of the opposition.

God help us. [-(

He is the leader of a coalition of the Liberal (what a misnomer) Party (strongly conservative), and the National Party (even more conservative, with a mainly "bush" following).

People are now referring to it as the Noalition. :D

During a news conference the questions asked are random? I don't think so. The President picks a news reporter at random for his question? I don't think so. Press conferences have been staged for years by both parties Rep. and Dem. Obama couldn't give a speech when he was attending Harvard. and as President he is completely lost without his teleprompters. Does the president of the U.S.A. really make any policies on his own? Or is it the people with the big money behind the scenes who make policies? I'm not ignorant just confused.
