I don't really want to get into the middle of this discussion but would like to offer up an editorial which appeared in the June 5th edition of the Bangkok Post as valuable reading. It was written by Khun Voranai Vanijaka and is entitled "A Portrait of a Dysfunctional Family". The article is a critical view of just what ails Thai society & sheds an enormous amount of light on what's being discussed here.

You should be able to pull it up from the BP web site. Those unable to do so can PM me and I'll be happy to scan a copy to you by email.

When I look at how partisan and dysfunctional some “democracies” have become in Western countries I don't find it so easy to be critical of what is happening in Thailand - too many "democracies" now have the best (or should that be the worst?) government that money can buy
