Sports channels, web or dish?

Postby easterneye » March 16, 2010, 3:50 am

Hi all,

Please excuse my complete ignorance on this subject, as much as I love watching the Thai TV news channels with some bloke going ahead at 90 to the dozen and every time he draws breath some bird who is looking deep into his eyes goes ..... ka, ka, ka, ka (you know don't you) I would love to enhance this TV experience by watching some of my favourite sports from back in the UK, QUESTION, is it easier, possible? to watch via a dongle in the laptop, or more practical, convenient less expensive with a satellite dish? any help appreciated thanks

Satellite is good, but, I gather expensive - somewhere in the 2,000 baht a month.
I have not tried via the web.
Cable, if you are in an area that can get it) is a good option at 350 baht a month.
Major difference between cable & satellite (apart from the price :D ) is that cable is 'lucky dip' as to which Premiership game you can see (up to the cable operator) where as satellite show them all on different channels, so your choice.

Why don't You consider SLINGBOX (Lookup Slingmedia.com), and You can watch Your UK channels whereever You are in the world.

Kind regards maxeboy.

True sports do great(live) coverage of the english premier league with plenty repeats should you miss any. A quick nosey
at the tv listings in the bangkok post might give you a clue as to what other sports they cover. My knowledge of internet
viewing is limited, but in my experience you would be lucky to watch anything uninterupted.

Hi Easyerneye,

Little off subject but your avatar brings back memories of the first PC game I played. One of the nasties out of the Doom series. Nasty piece of work.
