Ahhh, the Opera is brilliant, the Mocha rich & soothing, the Peaberry fruity & fresh.

Alain is in Cambodia, but I was well taken care of; i.e., left wired from 3 samples!

Not to mention a sample bag of the rare Peaberry free! An acquired taste this unique bean is, small, and merged into 1.

Opera 290B / 500g; a little pricy but ecxellent. Apparently Alain comes from a French coffee-roasting family.

They sell nice machines also, some that grind the coffee then brew it in a fell swoop. Not cheap, but great Italian machines. We're talking in the 25 - 30K range for these models.

Still buzzing from the real thing. Enjoy y'all.

It's in this area, yes. If I am not mistaken, the Baan Worachan Hotel located in T3 on the city map is even nearer.

Thanks for your positive feedback, Thanuhak. Yes, Alain is sometimes in Cambodia. He operates another coffee house in Phom Penh with another French guy there. And when he's back in Thailand, he's not everyday in Udon Thani. I should have mentioned that, but I'm happy to read that you were well taken care of by despite his absence.

If you have the opportunity, try to visit his shop in Udon Thani when he's there. He's a very nice guy and he can explain you everything you want to know about coffee related matters. He's very knowledgeable and yes, coffee-roasting is and was the main activity of many members of his family and of several of his ancestors. Maybe should you make a phone call before organizing your next visit. He might be roasting some coffee then, and that's worth being there at least for the good smell of the freshly roasted coffee beans.
