Stargazing -- Leonids

Postby laphanphon » November 18, 2006, 5:33 pm

Leonids, meteor shower from nov 14th - 21st. took a peek last night, saw a nice one as soon as i walked outside, which prompted me to get my stargazing chair and light blanket. sat there for about 30 minutes and saw couple more, but nothing as in the past. peak time will be 18th/19th, hopefully better, and hopefully i'll have more energy, since a couple afternoon beers was making me a bit drowsey.

I'm envious -- we have too much light pollution for star-gazing, have to take my son's telescope out to the country for a good look.

All the teens and twenty somethings from our village ( tub Kung ) went to Philom and made a party of the other night. I heard it was a pritty good show @ 3am.

telescopes are useless for metors.
great for planet watching though.

good, now i know what time to set the alarm clock. should be much better, not much at midnight the other night. too bad it's a school day, some baileys would be nice, well, maybe one w/coffee won't hurt.

light blanket --- yes, it's sad, a mere 20C/60F degrees and i was chilly. only 6 yrs here and my body has adjusted to the temps, such a wimp.

You can get the same effect by drinking a bottle of Lao Khao, and a straw mat.
