picashu..
Don't worry about the heat, she will have a few Fans in the house, just leave them on low at night if its to hot for you.
But hold on....

as i read your post again, its your on-line chat friend and you are coming to see her for the first time, so you don't know what to expect accomodation wise when you get to Udon, if thats the case take a Hotel room, and visit the family house during the day, that way you get the best of both, and a little privacy too, good luck with the "chat girl friend" and lets hope she is what you have been expecting of her, things can be very different face to face.

Good advice from BM. While staying in her house would be a great experiance it might be a step too far for your relationship. My GF says that it is usually only married couples spend the night together under the parents roof or engaged ones at the very least! It depends on how traditional her parents are, but you might feel things are quickly getting out of control if you rush these things.

My advice is to learn about about the thai customs and how to say a few conversation sentences (the more the better). Take them out to a nice Issan restaurant will impress them and your GF.

I'd book a room for 1.....If shes traditional there is no way that you will be sleeping together and every time you go out you will have to be chaperoned otherwise it looks bad for her and her family as the two of you are not married!
There will be no good night kisses or sexual contact especialy in public, bar maybe holding hands and I suggest to let her take the lead with that one 8)

Good luck and have fun...but remember this is Thailand and the women are very different to western girls :D

I'd still book for two, if she doesn't stay there no problem.

i agree with you glen
i also spend some night at gf house and it was a great expereince and everyone liked me more for a fallang to stay in one of their homes.
i got told that to maney fallangs dont like to stay in their homes that's why they were seprised to see me stay there for two nights.
in the end i found that i got more respect and smiles from the locals after i stayed in one of their homes than what i did before i stayed.

The alarms would be triggering to me if a "nice" thai girl was allowing me to sleep with her within the first week or two of meeting her, or ever kissing her in Isaan public places.

Heat aside the other consideration is bed comfort.
The average thai bedding can be as little as a blanket on the hard floor; or you get offered a mattress that is little more than a bit of thin foam over metal and wood.
May be great with the excitement of the newness initally, but after a night of two of discomfort from a bad thai bed combined with excessive heat if you are not used to it, and the excitement quickly wears thin.

Could also say something about thai ettiquette where boyfriend's do not arrive unknown at a parents house, but if you can not take the time to at least read a little about thai traditional (Isaan) culture then so be it. But then only you can decide your expectations.

Panick gave you by far the best advice.
